My name is Tomás Mendes and I am a Portuguese Football player who always had the dream of playing in England.

Many footballers think it’ll be an easy route to make it, but it really isn’t and a lot of hard work, dedication and commitment needs to be done, this is one of the many things Elite Football Trials taught me. Additionally, they push you out your comfort zone in Professional environments, allowing you to see what is expected from you and what you need to do in order to fit in these environments. I can speak from personal experience that out of every 20 emails I send only few get back to me however with Elite Football Trials I really did get opportunities to go to the next step. I have been around in Europe to play football, but it’s not a lie to say that this is the best and realistic way to find good clubs in the semi pro and pro division. The collaboration with the agency started when I was playing in the 12 step, in one year they found me trials with Wormley Rovers and after with Tooting and Mitcham (step 4).’

“Having met Nathan after training in Spain with Alicante City FC in 2018, I kept in touch with him after returning home to Northern California. I submitted my CV and match highlights to him in 2020 when the pandemic started to hit. Within a few days, Elite Football Trials contacted Highgate United, Racing Club Warwick, and Stratford Town FC to see if we could set up some trials. But right as I was ready to fly to Birmingham in November 2021, I got into contact with Dudley Sports FC. It would eventually be the club I would trial with and ultimately join. Playing the season in the Midlands Premier Football League where I was the lone international player. I was given the club person of the year after our season finished up. I have since returned to the US but the club wants me to return. As I’ve maintained contact with the managers and club, returning to Dudley Sports FC is my main goal.”
